RCS was in the Sunshine State in late November working with OSA Media Solutions to provide production services for the 35th annual George R. Mattar relay race. On Friday, November 20, members of the U.S. Armed Forces participated in the annual competition at the MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL, and all the action was live streamed on YouTube, and on-site via large format displays.
Ahead of the race, RCS volunteered for both the OTT broadcast and jumboscreen. We first devised a sleek design and then built the graphics templates with a goal of giving viewers a clearer understanding of real-time team standings and comparisons throughout the race. The package included everything from a persistent bug to lower thirds, full screen and split view.
One of our Uppercut PCR touchscreen and hardware solutions was utilized to seamlessly merge video with graphics. At the same time, a custom version of our LaunchPad interactive system allowed us to illustrate standings in real-time by integrating data captured from My Athlete Live GPS sensors embedded in the relay batons with a dynamic 3D map environment.
RCS is truly grateful for all the U.S. Armed Forces do for our country, and we are were honored to be part of this effort. Thank you to the JCSE Veterans Association, OSA Media Solutions and My Athlete Live for partnering with us.
