Riot Games approached Reality Check Systems to create a complete broadcast and in-house graphics package for their League of Legends Season Two tournaments, to date the biggest eSports events of all time, with a prize purse of two million dollars. As League of Legends is the most played video game in the world, all graphics were developed closely with Riot Games to ensure a design that was based in the world of League of Legends, while also pushing the envelope of what eSports broadcast is capable of. The Season 2 World Championship alone, held at USC’s Galen Center, was seen by 8,000 screaming in-house fans as well as over 8 million people who tuned in either online or on TV, and was called by Forbes “The single greatest finals event in eSports history, bar none.”
RCS helped Riot Games launch Season Three’s “League Championship Series”, ushering in a new era of competitive League of Legends play for professional gamers, and continuing the evolution of eSports.
